Second wave of COVID-19 data released

The second wave of the Understanding Society COVID-19 survey is now available from the UK Data Service.

Wave 2 of the COVID-19 survey can now be downloaded. The web-based questionnaire asks about the impact of the coronavirus on the welfare of UK individuals, families and wider communities. Participants complete a short regular survey, which includes core content designed to track changes, alongside variable content adapted as the coronavirus situation develops, drawing on proposals from the research community. Data for this second wave of the study was collected in May 2020 and the survey included questions on:

  • Household relationships
  • Coronavirus illness
  • Long term health condition management
  • Loneliness
  • Housing
  • Employment
  • Finance and financial security
  • Partnership changes and Living Apart Together (LATs)
  • Time use
  • Parents and children
  • Mental health
  • Life Satisfaction

The dataset can be downloaded from the UK Data Service. There is a user guide to help researchers make the best use of these data and the variables included in the dataset can be found in the variable search area

The COVID-19 study is funded by the ESRC and the Health Foundation
