The Understanding Society partnership histories file, Understanding Society: Marital and Cohabitation Histories, 1991-2021 contains information about the start and end dates of all partnerships – marriages, civil partnerships, and cohabitations (living together as a couple) as reported by adult respondents in all Understanding Society and British Household Panel Survey samples.
The latest edition of the datafile incudes new data from Waves 11 and 12 of the main Understanding Society study, allowing researchers to use data from 1991 to 2021.
