Are you a politics researcher who would like to write a paper on the 2019 elections with a cohort of people doing the same thing? Or are you new to politics research or Understanding Society, and would like support as you write your first paper in this area? This research programme could be for you.
The 2019 general election was the fourth nationwide poll in five years, coming at the end of a period of political instability. The years 2015-2019 saw fundamental changes in the UK political and social landscape – how did voters react to the changes? What factors might have had an impact on their political decisions? And what can we learn about possible political changes in the future?
The General and European Elections Research Programme is a special project aimed at supporting researchers who want to carry out work in this key area. Whether you are an experienced politics researcher or a researcher who is new to the topic, the programme will provide support and structure for you as you work on your research, plus a community of researchers also working in the same area as you. The programme cohort will meet during the course of the project to discuss their developing research and the programme will conclude in Spring 2023 with a one-day conference where papers will be presented.
