COVID-19 study Wave 7 data available

The latest data from the Understanding Society COVID-19 survey can now be downloaded.

Wave 7 of the Understanding Society COVID-19 study was collected in January 2021. The web survey invitation was sent to all participants who had been invited to the study in the previous wave. 

The COVID-19 survey includes questions on core content, which are repeated in each wave, plus rotating and additional questions on different aspects of the coronavirus outbreak and how it affects households in the UK. The core content includes questions on: 

  • Coronavirus illness
  • Long-term management of health conditions
  • General health questionnaire
  • Loneliness
  • Employment

In Wave 7 questions were also included on: 

  • Caring within the household
  • Life satisfaction
  • Exercise
  • Self assessed health
  • Diet, food security and nutrition
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Smoking
  • Work conditions
  • Job searching
  • Housing
  • Parents and children
  • Home schooling
  • Domestic division of labour
  • Partner
  • Attitude to immigration
  • Flu jab and coronavirus vaccination
