Parenting styles and dimensions questionnaire (PSDQ): Permissive parenting scale. Sum of responses to items 11, 20, 34, 41 and 4 originally proposed by Robinsonet al. (2001). Missing if response to any of the input variables is missing or wild. Note that items 38, 49, 8, 15, 36, 45, 30, 52 and 57 are not collected in Understanding Society and the order in which the questions are asked varies from that in the original. Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of scale reliability included in the variable label. For a complete description of the original construct, and coding notes, see Robinson, C. C., Mandleco, B., & Olsen, S. F. (2001). The parenting styles and dimension questionnaire (PSDQ). In B. F. Perlmutter, J. Touliatos, & G. W. Holden (Eds.), Handbook of family measurement techniques: 3 (pp. 319-321). Thousand Oaks, CA: SAGE Publications, Inc.
