Neighbourhood Social Cohesion,(α= .8)
Neighbourhood Social Cohesion scale using items from the Project on Human Development in Chicago Neighborhoods (PHDCN). Sum of the four input variables, reverse-coded where appropriate so that the scale ranges from 4 “lowest social cohesion” to 20 “highest social cohesion”. If only one input item was missing, the respondents mean response from the other items, in integers, is used as a proxy. Cronbachs Alpha is reported in the variable label. Refer to the syntax file nbrcoh_dv.do for the code to create the neighbourhood social cohesion derived variable.
See nbrcohdk_dv and nbrsnci_dv
Uses nbrcoh1, nbrcoh2, nbrcoh3, nbrcoh4.
