Results from analysis of the longitudinal survey ‘Understanding Society’, looking at persistent low income and changes in household income. Income Dynamics (ID) presents information on changes in income over time. It presents findings on rates of persistent low income for different groups. Individuals are in persistent low income if they are in relative low income for at least three out of four consecutive annual interviews. Statistics on low income entry and exit are also included, as well as analysis on how these entries and exits are linked to changes in income, employment, and demographics. ID also looks at movements within the overall income distribution over time.
