This year’s publication focuses on topical policy matters, and looks back across the Study’s lifetime to celebrate research which has benefitted from longitudinal data, examining change in people’s lives over time.
In six chapters, Insights addresses:
- civic engagement
- education and training
- employment and non-employment
- family, household and social connectedness
- health and health behaviours
- income, consumption and wealth
The publication comes just ahead of a week of online debates, designed to look beyond current pressures and inform thinking about policy in the long term. In this series of events, experts and academics will ask questions such as
- how can the road to recovery be different from previous recessions?
- what do we learn by observing the complex lives of individuals, families and communities?
- what lessons can we learn from the recession of 2008?
- what insights does Understanding Society give us on people’s priorities?
