Abstract

This working paper reports an analysis of panel attrition in the General Population Sample (GPS) and the Immigrant and Ethnic Minority Boost (IEMB) of Understanding Society. The analysis involves the comparison of the wave response rates for the initial samples of respondents overall and across a set of groups formed by baseline characteristics. In addition, we assess the effectiveness of the survey weights to tackle attrition. The analysis of the GPS covers waves 1 to 11, while the IEMB covers waves 6 to 11.
