The importance of youth data to be discussed at Conference

On Wednesday 22nd July, researchers will discuss the unique value of youth data in Understanding Society at the University of Essex.

During 2015 the team leading Understanding Society is reviewing the youth and young adult questionnaires in order to improve its usefulness for social science research and public policy.

We have:

  • identified research already produced with these data, in order to review which variables are employed and which are not;
  • undertaken an online consultation to identify topics that need to be improved. We are keen to share the interim results of this consultation process with researchers, policy makers and third sector organisations from various disciplines and thematic interests to discuss all issues relating to the youth questionnaire content.

The Understanding Society team welcomes all contributions to the consultation and we very much hope that you will join us for a bespoke user consultation session.

What’s the session include?

  • Introduction and background to consultation
  • Showcasing existing research using the data
  • Overview of youth and young adult questionnaire content
  • Open forum to discuss how to improve the value of Understanding Society youth data
