In the same week as the Understanding Society Scientific Conference, there are two workshops taking place, one on using weights in Understanding Society; and one on cross-national migration research using longitudinal studies.

The following events will be held on 10th July 2017 and are now bookable via Eventbrite.

Workshop 1

Using weights and sample design indicators in Understanding Society – why, when and how?

This workshop will explain why sample design and non-response should be taken into account in survey analysis and will demonstrate how to do this in Stata using Understanding Society data.

Workshop 2

Cross-national comparative research on migration using longitudinal studies

This workshop is intended as a practical step towards addressing these challenges and to advancing comparative longitudinal research on migration focusing on the ethnic minority, migrant and refugee boost samples in Understanding Society and the German Sociology-Economic Panel (SOEP).
